Pitch- Heather's Home

Heather's Home SHElter

Our organization aims to provide shelter for young adult women who want to leave their current living situation but do not have the finances to do so on their own.  Focused on targeting those who want to leave abusive situations , SHElter provides a safe haven for this transitional period.  SHElter provides a home during a transitional phase for students who have to work.

Upon entry, SHElter requires its tenants to find a job, or prove student status or already existing employment.  While we lend a helping hand to those in unfortunate living situations, we do not want to incentivize our resources being taken advantage of.  The purpose of SHElter is to provide protection and comfort to the most people possible, and the quicker we can help young adult women to become self sufficient on their own means we get to take in more young adult women to help grow and succeed in their lives.

SHElter is unique because it focuses on a specific subset of people that other organizations do not.  That is not to say people who do not fit the description of our organization do not deserve assistance.  Simply put, given my experience of this issue and the limited resources available, our organization gets the most bang for its buck and has the most expertise in the areas we service.

Of note, an animal shelter is also included, in part to help assist with the therapy for the women who may need it, the idea being it could help provide a sense of responsibility through the therapy as well help the animals who are in need of help.

SHElter is reliant upon charitable contributions for its funding.  Anima Mundi should invest in the company because some people have a load of cash and want to invest in a cause to better a world.

Anima Mundi should invest in SHElter for the following reasons.  Unfortunately, there are charitable organizations whose money does not always go to the cause it claims to go to.  For instance, much of the donations can go towards the ambiguous “administrative costs” or other types of labels that makes one skeptical about the integrity of the organization.  SHElter does good, honest work.

  1. I feel like shelter is so important for everyone. We couldnt do anything ta all if we didnt feel safe and secure. Shelter food and water is at the bottom of the hierarchy of needs and the fact that many people dont have access to this is sad. If money were no issue I would love to find a way to create homes for the homeless people and teach them skills to help them learn how to do more things so they can be successful

  2. Homelessness is a really big problem, and it leads to other problems and the people end up in a vicious cycle and outcast by society. Homelessness can happen to anyone and is hard to get out of it.
